Artist Statement
Martha King (b. 1988, Vermont) is a visual artist investigating light and shadow thorough her body of work. Frequently using blown and cold worked glass, combined with natural phenomena such as steam, smoke and water, Martha is interested in the kinetic, and temporary nature of these elements as they interact, interfere and breathe life into her sculptures.
Martha graduated from Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 2011, with a focus on Studio for Interrelated Medias, Glass, and Painting, and currently resides in San Francisco, CA.
